SCOTIA, N.Y. – Prior to the one and a half hour flight over Upstate New York and Vermont, the employers attended an ESGR briefing and then overviews on the Air Force 109th Air Wing on May 8,2019 The 109th Airlift Wing, Stratton Air National Guard Base, is the only LC-130 Airlift Wing in the world. It is one of five flying units of the New York Air National Guard that provides worldwide airlift support for operations as directed by the Air Mobility Command and the Air National Guard. It has the only ski-equipped C-130 aircraft in the Air Force and is the sole provider of heavy airlift in support of military and National Science Foundation directed operations in the Arctic and Antarctica Polar Regions. The purpose of the Boss Lift Program is to provide employers and supervisors the opportunity to better understand what their employees do when they are away from their civilian occupation for military duty,  The mission of the Boss Lift is to educate Employers on military culture and life. Getting a birds eye view of what our service members do and having a better appreciation of their lives in the military. “Speechless. What a day !!!!! Today I took flight on a c130. It was a privilege and honor and brought me to tears. To explore a taste of what my boys do and see our heroes in action !! Watching civilians explore , ask questions and be enlightened. That’s what it’s all about !! Educating! This was a day I will never forget. So proud to be in this family!!!”
