Name of Respondent: Griffan Randall
Years in Business/Role: 4
Tell us a little bit about your business, how you got started in your role?
I am a general psychiatrist whose practice includes both medication management and various individual therapies for adolescents through geriatrics. After graduating medical school from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013, I went on to complete my residency in Psychiatry and Neurology at the Institute of Living in Hartford, CT. Upon graduation from residency in 2017, I opened my own private medical practice to do outpatient Psychiatric care.
What brought your business to the Guilderland Community?
I was born and raised in Guilderland, and although my education took me to various states and locations, I always hoped to return home to give back to the town that raised me.
What sets your practice apart from other Psychiatrists in the area?
My medical office is woman-owned and operated. One of my goals is to make the environment as welcoming and comfortable as possible, as I strongly believe that there are non-verbal means for healing as well. And of course, my therapy dog, a
French Bulldog named Zuul!
What is your favorite part about what you do?
I genuinely love the depth of human connection that not just medicine, but especially this specialty of medicine, allows.
Fun Fact about yourself or practice?
Did I mention my French Bulldog therapy dog?!
Optional: What type of safety protocols have you initiated during COVID-19? How has the pandemic shifted or impacted your business, positively and/or negatively?
During the COVID-19 pandemic my office has integrated telemedicine as a safe and healthy option for patients to continue receiving care. But for those who either need or want to be seen in person, my office has gone to great lengths to ensure that those who are still coming to in-person appointments are arriving at a safe and clean environment.
