Summit at Mill Hill is the newest independent senior living community in Guilderland. Tell us a little bit about your business, how you got started or you got started in your role?
After helping my own parents navigate the senior living options in the Capital District, I was determined to help other seniors and their families who were at similar crossroads in their lives. I first worked as a Sales Director in an Assisted Living community, and then was hired as Community Manager at Summit at Mill Hill, in January of this year.
This has been a challenging year for all of us! At Summit at Mill Hill, no sooner had we opened in January when we had to close in March (due to COVID, of course)! We were not able to conduct tours, host visitors, or move in new residents. On the bright side, it was very easy for our first new residents to practice social distancing (since only 18 apartments out of 92 were occupied by March)!
For our residents, this is a wonderful place to live. Our amenities include concierge service, breakfast daily, an onsite fitness program with 2 exercise rooms, a yoga studio, pool, hot tub & sauna, a movie theater, library, game room and so much more!
What brought your business to the Guilderland Community?
There was a need for an upscale senior apartment community in Guilderland that does not require a large entrance fee. This and the many services and amenities we offer really sets Summit at Mill Hill apart from other senior living communities!
What is your favorite part about what you do?
As the Community Manager, I love to meet new people and I enjoy helping our residents feel comfortable and happy in their new home.

We have 18 common rooms at Summit at Mill Hill, including a Golf Simulator, a non-denominational chapel and even a Pet Spa!
