Thank you Guilderland Community!

The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the Guilderland Community for another successful Holiday Angels Program!

This year we provided gifts to 11 families, approximately 50 people from the Altamont, Guilderland, Lynnwood, Pine Bush, Westmere Elementary Schools and Farnsworth Middle School. All children in family received gifts of requested items including winter coats, boots, clothing, shoes, pajamas, toys, gift cards and more! Parents received gift cards for groceries, haircuts, restaurants, hardware and other stores. In Addition to the Elementary and Middle School Families, 60 Guilderland High School Students each received a goodie bag with 4 movie passes, Gift Cards to Apex Entertainment and Dunkin’ Donuts.

Thank you to our three business sponsors Guilderland Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Expressive Journeys LLC and Crossgates Mall. Also thank you to the Chamber members who adopted families for their office or business. With their help, all gifts were purchased and wrapped. Finally, a huge thank you to our Chamber Board Members, Chamber Staff, Ambassadors and Volunteers who helped deliver the gifts to the local schools.

The Holiday Angels program has be going strong for approximately 20 years. The program helps Guilderland families every year who have fallen on hard times for whatever reason and cannot provide gifts or clothing to their children. Local families are identified by staff in each of the Guilderland Central School Districts’ five elementary, middle and high school.

Thank you WNYT News Channel 13’s Faith King for highlighting our program and interviewing Chamber Executive Director, Sandra Dollard. To watch the full interview, visit wnyt.com.
